TWO Bridge champions from Bromsgrove have added another title to their collection after winning the county pairs title.
Keith Collins and Monica Osborne, from Marlbrook and Blackwell respectively (pictured), battled against 23 other pairs to win the Worcestershire County Bridge Association Club Championship Pairs on Sunday, March 9.
The pair recorded the highest average after scoring 65 per cent in the first half and 57 per cent in the second of their six-hour card match.
Keith, chairman of Bromsgrove Bridge Club, said: "We had a chance going into it but the competition is very tough and after the first half one pair had 75 per cent, which is a very high percentage and we were in fourth position."
But the pair are no strangers to success. As a team, they scooped the Bromsgrove Club Pairs crown last year and won the county knockout in 2001. Keith, who has been playing the game for 35 years, has also won the Club Men's Pairs.
Monica, also club secretary, was one half of a successful partnership when she was victorious in the Club's Ladies Pairs in 1998 and 2000.
Bromsgrove Bridge Club, which has 85 members, meets at Harris Brush Works, in Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, between 7.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesdays.
