LICKEY Monarchs have won the Bromsgrove and Redditch Table Tennis League after thrashing their closest rivals Carter Retail A 8-2.
Roy Norton and Eric Hardman were both unbeaten for Monarchs, they also won the doubles. Mick Kendall and Mark Fiddian won one each for Carter.
Droitwich Spa A beat Barnt Green A by the same score with Trevor Simmons winning three games for Spa and Gordon Nicklin and Trevor Birch getting two each.
West Midland Phones A could only manage two players against Astwood Bank and duly went down 10-0.
The closest game of the week was Studley Road Nomads' 6-4 defeat of Hillcrest. Captain Bernie Leech was victorious in all his games.
The two remaining games in division two were easy wins for the away teams. Barnt Green B beat Droitwich Spa C 10-0 and Barnt Green Hornets beat Studley Road Bulldogs 9-1.
