Tenbury Ladies 0 Worcester Norton III Ladies 2-
TENBURY'S penultimate league fixture ended in a disappointing defeat at home to Worcester Norton.
Tenbury had to restart the second half without in-form mid-fielder, Rachel Croxton, who had to be carried off with an ankle injury near the end of the first half, which will rule her out of their last league fixture next week.
Both sides started the game at pace with the hockey end-to-end with both midfields battling hard to keep possession. Sweeper, Rachel Croxton, was at the heart of Tenbury's attacks penetrating down Worcester's left flank enabling her forwards to push into the heart of their 'D' but were unable to find the finishing touch.
Worcester broke the deadlock scoring from a penalty corner. Tenbury tried to find the equaliser before the end of the half but came up against a strong Worcester defence.
In the second half Tenbury lost centre-back, Jess Selfe, to a toe injury. Right-back, Tina Bickley, pushed up on several occasions supporting her forwards in their attack but again Worcester's defence denied them any chance of entering their 'D'.
Late into the half Worcester scored their second and sealed their victory. Player of the match went to defender-cum-forward, Tina Bickley.
Next week Tenbury Ladies play Camp Hill in their last league game of the season at Bridge Street, Leominster starting at 1.30pm.
