Aston University 0 Ludlow 3
Ludlow's final league game and DTZ league championship hopes came to an end, just missing promotion by one single point, having only lost one game all season.
Already Shropshire Cup champions, Ludlow went for the double by capturing the league title, only to miss out by a draw against Atherstone Adders, late in the league run-in. This costing them the championship spot and promotion.
Ludlow played this enthralling encounter at the University ground, controlling the game, with a good passing and movement, on and off the ball.
The first half produced a stalemate as no goals were scored. But in the second period Ludlow really came alive with audacious set plays, cracking holes in the Aston defence.
Ludlow's first goal came from Vijay Chumber, squeezing the ball past the keeper's near post. The second soon followed from good work by the defence in Yon Saunders and James Wozencroft, reaching Neil Morris who cracked the ball home from the scoring D. The final goal came from young star Pat-rick Curtis who had an excellent game.
Ludlow's hopes were dashed, once news that Whit-church had beaten West Brom 2-0 to clinch promotion. All in all, it has been a remarkable season for the club.
