MOORING for more than 20 river users could be put in place at land just off the River Avon in Bidford.
Planning councillors will decide on the plans, which include excavation of agricultural land, constructing 24 moorings and a car park at Marriage Hill Fruit Farm, Salford Road, at the Avon area meeting tomorrow.
An objection has been received from the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE), concerned the applicants have a leisure complex in mind which would cause harm to the character and peaceful nature of the area.
But applicant Mr G Jackson has said support for the scheme has been received from the Upper Avon Navigation Trust, Bidford Boats and Topaz Marine Services and Welford Boat Station.
Bidford Parish Council also supported the application.
