A MUCH needed service in Alcester has been given a major boost after two generous donations.
Two new wheelchairs have been donated to the Alcester Volunteer Bureaux which can now bolster its wheelchair loan service.
The volunteer bureaux, based in Globe House, Priory Road, has already got five wheelchairs and with the extra two will be able to provide a limited short-term wheelchair loan service and enhance the community.
The Alauna Masonic Lodge donated one of the wheelchairs, which will be named John in the memory of John Stewart, a former member of the lodge in the town.
The second wheelchair will be named after Fred Wesley who was a valued bureaux volunteer for more than 15 years. His family has also made a donation towards the service.
Members of the Alauna Lodge will be officially presenting the new wheelchairs to the volunteer bureaux on March 31 at Globe House.
