A PHONE box due to be removed from the Hanley Road car park in Upton-upon-Severn could be saved after all.
Town councillor John Thompson told fellow members of Upton Town Council that he had found relevant information on the Oftel web site.
"Part of the deal by which the telephone service was privatised was that BT could not remove public telephone boxes without the express permission of the local authority," he said.
Last month the council decided to protest to BT after hearing that it was proposing to remove the call box from the car park as part of a rationalisation programme.
