A PONY the size of a Rottweiler, who was found abandoned last Christmas, is to be the mascot for the group that rescued him.
Dougal, a miniature Shetland pony, was found covered in tar with a pregnant mare, Mary.
Both were rounded up by police and spent the night at a vets. The RSPCA then contacted Horse Watch, a horse rescue group in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Dougal has been living with the chairman of Horse Watch, Cy Warren ever since, and Mary has been rehoused.
Now Horse Watch is appealing for more members from the Worcester area to help them help more animals like Dougal.
Mrs Warren can be contatced on on 01568 750328.
