THE spirit of Kidderminster Harriers players was certainly never in question as they fought back from a crushing early two-goal deficit at home to Shrewsbury on Tuesday.

Britton applauded their efforts but admitted they had let themselves down in a terrible first 15 minutes.

But he declared: "I thought we did well enough in the end to win the game. We began to play with pace, power and commitment in the second half.

"It was all one-way traffic and in the end we could have won the game comfortably. The lads battled well and showed a lot of commitment.

"But we let ourselves down badly in the first 15 minutes. They were both bad goals to concede and we were left chasing the game.

"Even after that they had a couple of chances but I don't remember Fraser Digby being forced to make a save or having to come for a cross.

"I always felt if we scored one goal we had enough to get back into the game. We had three or four chances in the first half which we should have converted. We could have even been in the lead at half-time."
