VOLLEYBALL: Disappointing Cleobury Mortimer failed to rise to the challenge of entertaining Ladies National League Division Two leaders Wolverhampton.
Cleobury lost 3-0 in their last home match with only six players available against strong opposition.
They handed the away side two easy opening sets by 25-7, 25-13 scorelines as they failed to serve or pass anywhere near their normal standard.
The villagers finally started to play in the third set and player-of-the-match Clare Jones began to trouble Wolves' defence with big reverse and middle hits.
Cleobury led 10-8 and then 19-8 until Wolves upped the pace and triumphed 25-21.
But Cleobury are safe from relegation and want to win their final game at Tameside to finish the season on a high.
