BOWLING: Tornadoes have been confirmed Gilt Edge Short Mat League champions after closest rivals Invincibles slipped up.
Invincibles were beaten by Untouchables after losing the first half and they failed to take full points against Chester Road, dropping the second half 12-5.
Tornadoes defeated Untouchables 16-12, despite stuttering to a 9-5 first-half deficit.
Surprise package Aces, who struggled for most of the season, made a late run to finish fourth behind Chester Road. The bottom eight teams now compete for the Consolation Trophy.
Three finals were played with Ian Davis beating Len Atkins in the open singles.
The doubles went to Tony Crowley and Martin Davis who defeated Richard Payne and Yvonne Payne.
Crowley, M Davis and Jeff Wallis triumphed in the triples over Keith Mills, Chris Lawson and Joan Lawson.
