IN the Public Notices column of the Shuttle/Times & News of March 6, Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire District Council stated they are "considering the most appropriate way to manage waste produced from within the two authorities' areas".
This is two years after the Tories came to power in Worcestershire.
They have yet to strike a meaningful blow to deal with our waste, except to send 200,000 tonnes to be burnt in north London - a whole new meaning to the phrase "not in my back yard".
So the Tories approve of using incinerators as part of their current plan. Yes, I voted for the last contract, but not for an incinerator at Foley Park in Kidderminster.
Indeed, I chaired the planning meeting at Kidderminster Town Hall which threw it out.
Waste disposal just has not been a priority for the Tories. Stephen Clee (Letters, March 13) attempts to play games and abdicate responsibility.
