TITLE-chasing Bewdley Town warmed up for last night's Worcestershire Junior cup final with a convincing 6-0 victory at Leominster Town.
Keith Elliott and Ervine McMahon, back from injury, encouraged the team to play some of their best West Midlands League Division One South football of the season.
Bewdley took an early lead when Neil Turford's long throw was flicked on by Steve Mares and flew directly into the top corner.
Top scorer John Maffei had two good chances before Elliott volleyed home superbly from Darren Potter's headed assist.
The visitors went further ahead on 35 minutes when Maffei was brought down in the area and he fired in the resulting penalty.
Five minutes after the break, Bewdley brought on substitutes Matt Allsopp and Grant Gibbs.
And Allsopp grabbed Bewdley's fourth goal with a tremendous 35-yard shot that gave the Leominster keeper no chance.
Bewdley's defence of John Lawley, Adam Bayliss and Paul Field were in total control against their Herefordshire opponents with Jim Pickett in goal rarely troubled.
Former Kidderminster Harriers youth teamer Gibbs, returning from five months' unavailability, scored two goals in three minutes.
He slid the first in at the far post from another Turford throw before finishing clinically from man-of-the-match Mares's cross.
Bewdley are one point behind leaders Hinton, who won 2-1 at Blackheath, but have a comfortable four games in hand.
Town's players are asked to meet at the Waggon and Horses pub at 12.45pm on Saturday for the cup trip to Kidderminster League side Straits House.
