A 28-8 victory over Bromyard moved Cleobury Mortimer to within two points of third-placed Veseyans in North Midlands One.
The Cleobury pack tore into their opponents from the start, even more so after an opening unconverted try in the corner from Willie Bache.
Colin Smith extended the dominant home side's lead with a penalty and Hylton Smith added a second try after Bromyard's spoiling tactics in the pack.
It took the villagers until 10 minutes prior to half-time before they were on the score-sheet again through Pete Homan from a forward surge.
Fly-half Smith missed all three conversions as he found kicking difficult with a hamstring injury.
Bromyard salvaged points with a long-range penalty to leave the half-time score at 18-3.
Cleobury continued their dominance in the second period with Rob Kirton winning a battle to touch down ahead of several colleagues.
The lead should really have been more but a touch of complacency set in as Bromyard scored an unconverted try with the help of their eager running backs.
But skipper Colin Todd finished the game with a flourish for Cleobury after a series of drives and inter-play between forwards and backs saw the ball switched before an overlap was created.
They are now closer in the table to Veseyans who lost 39-11 at home to promotion-chasing Solihull.
