WCB Indoor League
CASUALS took another step towards the title with a four-wicket victory over Overbury last week.
Bull (31no) and Ali Munro (27no) had helped the losers to a useful if far from challenging target of 103 that the Evesham side finally reached in the penultimate over.
Fielding a weakened side, Casuals were never certain of victory after Charlton (26ret) and Gregory (23) had given them a sound start.
It was left to Horn (17) and Clements (14no) to steer the leaders home in unfamiliar nervy fashion.
St Benedict's rattled up a second successive win as they made easy meat of a target of 99 in their match with Elmley Castle.
A player short, Woodford (35no) and Sheward (28) added 70 for the first wicket but no one else reached double figures in a disappointing total of 98.
Powell and Shepherd both retired with 27 against their name as the Saints made the perfect start before Sara's unbeaten 25 saw the chasers reach 99-1 in fine style.
Latest results: Dumbleton 84-6, Ash-ton 88-1; Elmley Castle 134-5, Bidford 131-5.
Fixtures for Tuesday: Casuals v Stan-way (8), Overbury v St Benedict's.
