WORCESTER Norton women's first team play their final Midland Premier Hockey League game of the season at Nunnery Wood on Saturday (3pm) against mid-table Loughborough Students.
They will be intending to put on a sparkling performance as it was their first home fixture since becoming Midland's champions recently.
Squad: Fiona Nash, Hannah Bourne, Sadie Lapper, Becky Handy, Sophie Wood, Kate Fletcher, Tina Evans, Elaine Shepperd, Becky Adams, Jo Wal-ker, Charlene Mason, Amanda Smith.
Worcester seconds stand on the verge of creating an historic 'double' for the club if they defeat Kings Heath at University College on Saturday (3.30pm).
Victory would see them as Worcestershire Division One champions for the first time, emulating the first team's success of 1998.
It is also the passport to the Midland League play-offs. The hope is that as the first team leave the Midland League for the National League, so the seconds enter it. The team is unfortunately without key mid-fielder Jenny Rogers, who is away at a Welsh hockey international training weekend.
Worcester thirds have given themselves a great chance of avoiding relegation from Worcestershire Division One with their stunning 2-0 win at Tenbury.
An away victory over bottom-placed Evesham on Saturday would put them in an excellent position for their final postponed game against Camp Hill next month. Worcester fourth's ext-remely youthful side could yet finish in mid-table in Worcestershire Divis-ion Three in their first season in the league if they defeat Bromsgrove Thirds at Nunnery Wood on Saturday (4.30pm).
The previous encounter resulted in a 3-2 win for Worcester.
HAMPTON-IN-ARDEN 2 WORCESTER 2
Worcester will be disappointed with only taking a point as they were two goals up with 12 minutes to go.
The result is immaterial as Worc-ester have already won the Midland Premier League and were using the game to experiment with different tactical formations in preparation for their National League play-off competition next month.
However, the two defensive errors that led to the goals being conceded were unrelated to tactical changes but were directly attributable to individual indiscipline.
Worcester found difficulty in producing their normal fluidity in the first half while coming to terms with new patterns of play, but a minute before half time Becky Adams made progress and released a pass to Charlene Mason, who rounded the keeper to score.
Five minutes after the break again an early pass from Tina Evans found Adams in space who in turn moved the ball on to Jo Walker, who scored with a reverse stick shot high into the net.
Hampton continued to press and it needed several sharp saves from Fiona Nash to keep the score at 2-0.
Worcester made the error of continually passing the ball left in defence and paid the price when they conceded a penalty stroke in the 57th minute while trying to retrieve a self-inflicted pressure situation.
It was again a defensive error, needlessly getting caught in possession, that gifted Hampton their second goal with five minutes to go.
Worcester finished the game with ten players when Elaine Shepperd was given a yellow card for an over-physical tackle.
WORCESTER 2nds 1 CAMP HILL 0
After a shaky start Worcester scored when Becca Saunders drilled the ball past the keeper.
Worcester are now focusing on winning the last game to win the league and enter the play-offs for promotion to the Midlands Conference.
