THE trailing trio at the foot of Herald Division One in the Stratford Alliance were shown no mercy by three of the top four sides.

Fourteen goals were conceded by the strugglers with Alcester Lions coming off worst after a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of champions-elect Sportsmans Arms.

Ally Eden shared the day's scoring honours with a hat-trick in Tysoe's 4-0 win at Badsey United, while Stratford Spartak inflicted similar misery on hosts FISSC.

The section's other game saw a Keith Checketts strike give Claverdon the points at Quinton.

Henley Forest and Railway embarked on an amazing scoring spree in the Journal Premier Division.

Stuart Hall's treble for the visitors proved in vain as braces from Gary Joynes, Neil Jones and Andy Nash helped Forest to an 8-5 win.

There was plenty of goalmouth action at Bidford where the hosts collected a welcome point after sharing six goals with Badsey United.
