THE crowd certainly got their money's worth on Saturday!

I think our coaches would rather see us a little less entertaining though and more measly. Conceding five tries to Plymouth certainly wasn't on the agenda when we took to the field at Sixways.

It was an unbelievable game really. We went 24-0 up after 31 minutes and everything was looking good for us as we sealed the bonus point. The only way was up after that.

Then we ended up going in at half time 26-24 down! It was one of those passages of play where time seems to stand still. You just cannot believe what is happening.

In the great scheme of things, though, I don't think it will do us any harm. It is a great example of what can happen if you take your foot off the pedal. I think, after the four tries had been scored, a number of players thought that was that. Job done.

What Saturday proved is that there is no such thing as a comfort zone at National One level. If players thought that they could play up until the four tries were secured then they got a real wake-up call.

Professional rugby is about an 80-minute match. You need to be totally focused for all of it, not just some. We saw against Plymouth that it can be damaging to switch off. Against a team like Rotherham it would be fatal.

The importance of playing aggressive, physical and focused rugby cannot be underestimated because you have to keep it going for 80 minutes. As soon as you switch off mentally and slip down a gear it is twice as hard to get yourself going again.

In my opinion, it was an unprofessional performance on Saturday and it wasn't good enough. We accept that there is another team on the field, a match is not just about us. However, we have set standards this season and we dipped below them in the 10 minutes before half time against Plymouth.

It would be a tragedy if we threw away all the hard work in the space of say 20 or 30 minutes. But we all saw that it is very possible to do that. All those months, all those training sessions, all those meetings, the blood, sweat and tears. The dream could be over if we slacken off now.

I think we should feel under pressure to perform. We have a responsibility to the club and supporters to do better than Saturday because we have some tough tests ahead yet.

We travel to Moseley on Sunday and I don't need to remind anyone what happened the last time we played away on a Sunday.

By their standards, Moseley are having a poor season but make no mistake about it they will battle all the way at the weekend.

This is a local derby on their turf and they are fighting for their lives at National One level. Time is running out for them and they will see this game as one where they have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

We have something to prove to ourselves after Saturday. We must go there and be ultra professional because we know this could be a vital weekend in the race for the league title.

Leaders Rotherham travel to Exeter and we are obviously hoping that the Chiefs are as wound up for that one as they were when we visited them back in January.

Its going down to the wire and there is pressure everywhere you look. We must respond positively though and keep on going.
