HOCKEY traditions at Prince Henry's High School were maintained when the Under-14s squad was crowned county champions.
After overcoming Christopher Whitehead School (3-0) and The Chase (2-0) to reach the final, the Evesham girls again proved unbeatable and unbreachable in the final when Bromsgrove, Kings Worcester and Stourport provided the opposition at The Chase School.
Having suffered a defeat earlier in the season against Bromsgrove, Prince Henry's were delighted to take revenge with a 1-0 victory and two similar scorelines saw them take the county title.
Katy Thompson scored twice and Sammy Trotman once as composure in front of goal proved the key to success.
Lucy Tyrrell, meanwhile, has been selected for the Midlands Under-15 squad to tour Holland next month.
A regular in the Worcestershire side, Lucy will be testing her talents over the Easter weekend against an international selection of teams including opposition from the host country, America, Germany and South Africa.
There's also been success on the rugby field at Prince Henry's when the Under-14 side was crowned the best in Worcestershire.
They faced Old Swinford Hospital School in the county decider and led through a penalty by Andrew Robinson.
However, a converted try left them trailing 7-3 at half-time after which the Evesham lads took control.
Will Gayton spotted a gap in the Swinford defence to restore the lead before Lloyd Holland appeared on his opposite flank to score a second try and cap a fine display.
