PERSHORE Carnival is back with a new look and added attractions, despite fears that last year's event would be the last.
A notable absence from this year's Carnival will be lorries in the parade but organisers hope this will lead to more people getting involved on foot.
Chairman of the organising committee Dave Shaw said this change could help the event grow in the future. "It could be a case of reclaiming the streets," he said. "Without the juggernauts dominating the event and with a shorter parade route we hope lots of people get dressed up and join in."
He added that this year's theme had been chosen to encourage maximum participation.
"It is very broad, hopefully everyone will be able to get involved and help make this one of the biggest, brightest and most imaginative carnivals ever."
