SPEEDIER internet links will soon be available in a Worcestershire village, making it the newest addition on the broadband map of Britain.
British Telecom has confirmed residents in Badsey can sign up to the service from Wednesday, May 21, after 350 people registered an interest in the scheme hitting the necessary level.
Broadband, which operates at up to 10 times the speed of a standard internet connection, makes it quicker and easier to download large files and graphics such as music and video clips, while not blocking existing phone lines.
Registration
By hitting its pre-registration target for broadband, Badsey joins the Fernhill Heath, Pershore and Worcester St John's exchanges in acquiring broadband as a result of BTs pre-registration scheme.
"I'm delighted to say that more than 3,000 businesses and residential customers in Badsey will be able to access the new-wave communications by May 21," said Frank Mills BTs regional director.
BT has 650,000 broadband connections already in use across the UK.
Fernhill Heath exchange will receive broadband next Friday. Pershore will be next on the list on Wednesday, April 9 with St John's, Worcester, following on Wednesday, April 30.
