A BRAVE grandmother from Worcester will put aside her lifelong fear of heights in a charity parachute jump.
Gill Canning from Grove Farm, will jump from 10,000ft to raise money for the Acorns Three Counties Appeal to build a £4m children's hospice on the outskirts of the city.
Mrs Canning, aged 55, decided to make the jump after going up in a hot air balloon while on holiday in Egypt last year.
"The whole experience gave my a new positive attitude, but I felt I had conquered only part of my fear of heights," she said.
"I decided I would do a parachute jump for charity.
"The Acorns Appeal was the first thing that came to mind as I am lucky to have three healthy grandsons, especially with the most recent addition to our family arriving in February this year," she added.
Mrs Canning is hoping to raise more than £300 in sponsorship for the appeal.
She will take to the skies from Tilstock Airfield, Whitchurch, in Shropshire, on April 4.
To sponsor her call Acorns on 01905 767676.
