Mothering Sunday this year falls on Sunday, March 30, when there will be special service at St Peter's Church, Powick, at 11am (no other service at St James' Callow End).
Powick Parish Ramblers meet next Saturday, March 29, at 10am at the car park at Broomfields Farm Shop, Holt Heath off A4133 road to Ombersley. The walk is through woods and on part of the Wychavon Way for six miles, over 12 stiles. The leaders are Isobel and Peter Brant (details on 01905 23853).
Ian Gane, of Colletts Green, invites you to an evening of verse, prose, music and song presented by the Bransford Singers and friends on the theme of Love, at the Lyttelton Rooms, Malvern. The anthology of words is compiled and directed by Ian, and also includes Tony Seldon performing. The event starts at 7.30pm tomorrow (Saturday) and is in aid of the Malvern Priory Organ Fund. Tickets are £5 (with £3 concessions).
Congratulations to the swimming team of 1st Powick Brownies who took part in the Worcester Division Swimming Sports at Lower Wick Pool last Saturday. The relay team of Catherine Nichol, Sophie Powell, Hannah Whittal-Williams and Nicola Sandy finished in third place. Nicola Grifiths came second in her race and April Freeman was first in her heat. Charlotte McHugh and Aysha Neal were third in their heats. Also taking part were Olivia Sharp and Jeannie Gibson.
