BROADWAY musical favourite Fiddler on the Roof is being staged in spectacular form at Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre.
Paul Nicholas, famous for his role as Vince in BBC comedy Just Good Friends, will be starring as Tevye, a Jewish dairyman in Tsarist Russia who is doing his best to preserve tradition in the face of a changing world.
But when his daughters refuse the matchmaker's advice and marry for love, Tevye must choose between their happiness and his traditions.
Nicholas is a Broadway veteran and has won nine Tony awards.
Fiddler on the Roof is a rousing musical full of memorable melodies including Matchmaker, Matchmaker and the song made famous by Topol, If I Were a Rich Man.
The play runs from Monday, March 31, until Saturday, April 5. Tickets cost £7.50-£24.50 and are available from 0870 6077535.
Malvern
Alternatively, there are still a few performances left of Malvern Light Opera Society's own version of the musical.
The production, directed by Rob Holcroft, follows the company's annual successes with Oklahoma!, The Pyjama Game, and Oliver!
Bob Wilson will be starring opposite Betty Upson, who plays Tevye's wife Golder
