BATTLE of the bands winners Komanchi Tribe will be returning to the venue where they won battle - at Worcester's Marr's Bar.
Komanchi Tribe won The Marr's Bar competition last year and will be returning to The Pierpoint Street venue on Thursday, March 27.
The gig is part of a night held by fanzine Rhythm & Booze.
Hard metallers, Komanchi Tribe, are headlining for the night and will be supported by punk veterans Pigfish and local five-piece Volta.
Komanchi Tribe, a Stourport-on-Severn band, consist of Dale David on vocals, Pete Moulam on rhythm guitar, Alex Watt on lead guitar, Ram Edwards on drums and Dave Stevens on bass.
When they won the competition last year they won £1,000 worth of equipment from Music City, Worcester, a tour, a recording session at The Marr's Bar studio, a photo session, and all the advice they needed to make it in the music industry.
"We have had the money now and have spent it on upgrading our equipment. We're very grateful to Music City," says Dale.
"We are still waiting for the tour at the moment."
The band have recorded a new three-track CD during the last month and plan to send it off to record companies.
"When we won Battle of the Bands it changed things for a while. Now everyone has heard of Komanchi Tribe," says Dale.
"We've got a following of loyal fans from the Stourport and Kidderminster area.
"This year we hope to get on as far as possible."
