MATHON, Cradley and Storridge Mixed A team completed their winter league campaign with a convincing 4-0 victory against visiting Bewdley Tennis Club to win their division.

Acting captain Carol Dandy and Duncan Hannaford started strongly in the sunny conditions to win the first rubber 6-2, 6-2. Carol and Duncan also won their second rubber convincingly 6-0, 6-3.

The second MCS pair of Sonia Sanderson and the experienced Peter Flagg also played some fine tennis to win their first rubber 6-3, 6-0. This new pairing continue to compliment each other with Sonia strong on the base line and Peter's accurate volleying at the net to win the final rubber 6-4, 6-1.

Team captain Janet Brown, Jane Facer, Chris Brandon-White and Phil Toghill have also played for the team, which won every match in this division to secure a second successive promotion.

MANOR Park Tennis Club's Men's D concluded their winter league programme on Sunday with a 3-1 victory away to Woolhope C.

Colin Weedon and Steve James were in sublime form winning 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1. Michael Lane and Dave Hallam were on court in excess of three hours and produced a gutsy performance winning 7-5, 6-3 and losing 6-7, 3-6, 3-6.
