JUNIORS C reached the final of the Malvern Table Tennis League's secondary handicap competition last year and continue to make good progress this year.
A 16-point victory over CSSC Rambles has put them into this year's semi-final. The crucial set was towards the end of the match when Colin Sage held Jim Ahern to a 11-9, 5-11, 7-11, 9-11 score line.
Manor Park Express also moved into the semi-final when winning another close game against their Division One rivals YMCA Magpies by 24 points. Alan Salisbury took the honours in this match when taking points off Mark Jones, Derek Reynolds and Steve Humphrys.
Division Two leaders YMCA Vulcans had a difficult evening when playing against Malvern Police. Steve Mulka and Malcolm Dalley proved a real handful to Vulcans throughout the match and Alan Holmes did well to take a game off Alan Croad.
RESULTS: YMCA Magpies 380, Manor Park Express (50) 404; CSSC Ramblers 438, Juniors C (320) 454; YMCA Vulcans 408, Police (200) 498.
At a recent meeting the semi-final draw for the main competition kept the Third Division sides Bromyard Logics and Crackpots C apart.
The full draw is: Main Competition - Bromyard Logics v Crackpots E; Crackpots C v Ledbury Lions. Secondary Competition - Juniors C v Manor Park Express; Ledbury Merlins or Manor Park Maulers v Police.
Matches should be played during the week beginning Monday, March 31.
