MALVERN holidaymakers will be able to help Dyson Perrins High School build better facilities when they book trips abroad.
Rachel Williams of Easytravel, a past pupil and now mother to two children there, has come up with the idea to help the raise money for the school.
Dyson Perrins needs £350,000 to help fund extensive improvements as part of a £3 million building project currently under way.
Now everyone who mentions Dyson Perrins when buying a holiday at the Worcester Road travel agent will see £5 of every £500 they spend go to the appeal.
Peter Buchanan, headteacher of the Yates Hay Road school, said he was very grateful for the help, and that any other ex-pupils who have fundraising ideas would be welcome to come forward.
So far the school has raised nearly £30,000 and is applying to various bodies for grants.
The modernisation project is thought to be the largest ever undertaken at a Worcestershire school. It will see maths and science rooms gutted and re-vamped, new computer and sixth form facilities built and other parts of the school refurbished.
