A NEW development of affordable homes has been officially opened in Suckley.
Local councillor Wiz Clift and Malvern Hills District Council chairman Mary Wilkinson planted a damson tree to mark the opening of Damson Close.
The new houses were built by Elgar Housing Association, after consultations with local residents.
Richard Grounds, of Elgar, said: "We demolished 16 defective concrete properties and replaced them with a range of good-quality modern homes."
The development includes 14 rented houses and four low-cost, shared-ownership homes, as well as private properties.
People from local parishes are being given priority for the new houses.
