THREE teenage pupils from St James's School, West Malvern, won Malvern's Rotary Public Speaking Competition.
Charlotte Kopsch, Kathryn Bellamy and Charlotte Winter-Taylor beat off the competition from Hanley Castle High School and Malvern Girls' College last Thursday (March 13) to win the overall team prize.
The motion debated was "The British government is justified in seeking to restrict the number of asylum seekers entering Britain", "Internet chatrooms are a paedophile's paradise" and "Society is to blame for the current spate of eating disorders".
Charlotte Winter-Taylor also won the prize for the Best Speaker, at the competition held at Hanley Castle.
