schools, individuals and organisations across the district dressed up for Comic Relief Red Nose Day last Friday.

At The Wheel of Life Centre, North Malvern Road, a showing of spring and summer collection clothes raised about £100.

Burley Gate Primary School pupils wore red clothes and performed a Red Nose Day Rap in a special assembly. Sales of noses and donations contributed to a total of £140.

At Hampton School, part of Hillstone, pupils paid between 50p and £1 each for the privilege of having silly hair for the day, raising a total of £40.75.

Pupils at Leigh and Bransford Primary School were sponsored to put as many accessories and clips in their hair as possible. They also sold red noses and red cakes and held a quiz, raising nearly £300.

At Eastnor Castle, staff from the Land Rover Experience donated money themselves and also asked visitors to the centre to donate to Comic Relief in return for their off-road venture. They collected £50.

Staff and pupils at The Grove Infants School dressed in red and sported unusual hairstyles. They also made red puddings and raised £131 altogether.

Pupils at Ledbury Primary School paid 10p to buy cakes, kindly donated by Ledbury Preserves. They raised about £80.

Staff at The Downs School, Colwall, auctioned their hair to students who could then mess it up for the day. Students had crazy hair themselves and paid to ride on the school's narrow gauge train, which was decorated with a red nose.They raised £293.10.

Malvern Girls' College raised £300 after they sold red noses and staff wore fancy dress.

The Chase raised £255.55 at a rugby match between the Upper and Lower Sixth Forms.
