MALVERN Ladies continued their push for promotion when they entertained Droitwich on a hot and sunny Saturday.
MALVERN LADIES 7, DROITWICH 1
Malvern, missing their key defender, started shakily but after many shots at goal Amy Forsyth flicked the first into the net after 15 minutes.
Droitwich came back strongly and equalised following a mix up in the home defence. Malvern then settled into the play they are now know for, with attack after attack. Helen Barnes made the half time score 2-1.
In the second half Malvern came out strong, with a barrage of shots at the Droitwich goalie. Again Amy Forsyth hammered the ball home for her second. Then a cross from inside the D from Sophie Wood took a deflection from a defenders stick and produced the fourth for Malvern.
A good midfield effort by Emily Swinswood produced the fifth when she lifted the ball high into the net.
Sophie Wood took a pass from Lucy Smith and waited for the goalie to commit herself. She then calmly hit it into the bottom corner making it her second and Malvern's sixth. Amy Forsyth finish off the scoring with her hat-trick, making the final score 7-1.
Malvern play their final Worcestershire League game at Malvern College against Pershore tomorrow (Saturday), 12.30pm push back.
