THE sighting of UFO was reported in the Malvern Gazette on March 20, 1953.
Described as pear-shaped and slightly luminous, it was seen in the sky above Malvern Link in the early hours of the previous Wednesday.
"The object, emitting a dull-green yellow luminous glow, was flying southwards with the blunt end of the pear-shape foremost." the paper reported.
"It was travelling on a straight course at an estimated speed of 200-300mph."
