ASPIRING actors in Dymock will be putting on their glad rags for a colourful performance of Terry Pratchett's Mort.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (March 26, 27 and 28) members of Dymock Amateur Dramatics Society will stage Stephen Briggs adaptation of Pratchett's novel at Dymock Parish Hall.
John Allright, who directed Weird Sisters in Malvern Wells last year, is directing the tale about Mort, a young man who Death, played by Mark Thrift, takes on as his sidekick.
"Death comes to us all but when he comes for Mort he offers him a job as his apprentice, which Mort proceeds to mess up," said Mr Allbright.
The role of Mort is played by 14-year-old James Downham. His first job is to collect three people as they pass Death's door, but he upsets reality by saving one of them, Princess Kelly (Laura Allbright), and kills her assassin instead. As a result, the mist of reality begins to creep over the Kingdom. Tickets are £4 (£2.50 concs), available from Well House Garage, the Beauchamp Arms in Dymock or on the door. However, Friday's show has already sold out.
