A lively debate at a school in Droitwich has allowed students the opportunity to voice their opinion on the Iraq conflict.
More than 60 pupils at Droitwich Spa High School attended the event organised by Year 11 students.
The idea originated when some pupils staged a small sit-in on Wednesday.
Pupils Ruth Carnie, aged 16, Sarah Holtom, 15, and Karl Stokes, also 15, organised the event on Wednesday, March 19.
"This was a good way to raise awareness," said Karl.
Ruth Carnie added that although they had learnt a bit about politics, they would like to be taught more.
During the debate students took the stage and gave their opinions.
The audience was split 50-50 when Peter Buckell, the teacher chairing the debate, asked for a show of hands on whether or not they were persuaded of the need for war.
He later asked whether war was inevitable even at this stage or if there was a better way.
An estimated 75 per cent of pupils voted for the former.
