Bromsgrove Rvrs 0, Evesham Utd 1

TIM Hart produced one of the saves of the season as the red-hot Robins secured a fourth straight league win, writes Mervyn Collins.

Leading by Inderpaul Khela's 68th minute strike, the visitors were under the cosh but found a true hero in goalkeeper Hart.

He saved his best until last, three minutes from time to be precise, when he flung out his left hand to claw aside a thumping volley from six yards by Richard Burgess that had goal written all over it.

Even the home fans applauded Hart's heroics, while also berating a Bromsgrove side that looked anything like Western Division title hopefuls.

However, it was Hart who further dented their lofty aspirations with a succession of second half stops that earned Evesham an amazing fourth straight 'double'.

Rovers ruled a scrappy first half in which chances were at a premium.

Grant Pinkney had the clearest eight minutes before the break but after neat play from Mark Shepherd, the makeshift striker's shot from eight yards produced a fine save from Matt Lowe.

Seconds later, Burgess raced clear only for Hart to deflect his lob against the outside of a post.

Two minutes later, the keeper saved bravely from Jon Ford before Jay Powell cleared for a corner amid a scramble of bodies.

Shepherd spurned a couple of half-chances as United used the slope and breeze to good advantage.

Scott Mullen shot over after good inter-play with Shepherd before the visitors enjoyed a huge slice of good fortune.

James Dyson's goalbound shot looked to hit Mark Wolsey's hand but the referee ruled otherwise much to the fury of the home fans.

Khela missed out at the other end following a free kick from Nathan Jukes before Burgess again failed to hit the target from 25 yards after Hart's poor kick left the goal gaping.

Dyson was again denied by a United hand but this time it was the outstretched fingertips of Hart before substitute Aaron Shanahan's quick free-kick was nodded in by Khela.

The scorer then hit the bar after some super Shepherd skills before Hart took centre stage.

The goalkeeper blocked a Burgess strike after 78 minutes and then got in the way of Steve Frost's shot.

The rebound fell invitingly for Ross Collins but fortune again favoured Phil Mullen's men as the midfielder blasted over from eight yards when it seemed easier to score.

Mullen had given Paul Oakey a 79th minute bow as the visitors looked to play out time but they were grateful to Hart's stupendous stop as they once again got the better of their Worce-stershire rivals.
