A WORCESTER-based dating agency that relies on chemistry rather than computers is proving a big hit in the Midlands.
Liaisons, which was founded by Andrew Bryan from Kempsey just over a year ago, already has hundreds of members across the region.
The company started up in Warndon, but has expanded to Stratford-on-Avon, Hereford and Cheltenham.
It organises social events for single people aged 30 and over, with the emphasis on local weekly club nights as well as weekend social gatherings.
Events include restaurant meals, dinner parties, ten pin bowling, skittles, murder mystery nights, barbecues, theatre, cinema and walks.
Liaisons' unique selling point is an updated list of profiles, which is sent out regularly to members.
They can then contact other members if they wish, and can arrange to meet at social events.
Mr Bryan stressed that the organisation was not a dating or introductory agency.
Few stresses
He said there were no stressful one-to-one meetings, no pressure to make polite conversation with someone you do not want to talk to, and no costly introduction fees.
"The best way of meeting new friends or someone special is by socialising with other single like-minded people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere," he said. "Relationships are all about chemistry, which no dating or introductory agency could possibly match by computer."
Mr Bryan said Liaisons catered specifically for single people whose social lives had been affected by relationship breakdown, pressure of work or moving to a new area.
He said it was also for single people who wanted to make new friends or form relationships.
The company is set to open 10 new branches this year, in places including Coventry, Shrewsbury and Birmingham.
Membership as obtainable from just £50 for six months.
