A 10-YEAR-old boy was left devastated when a car drove over his prized birthday toy leaving it a write-off.
Joe Roberts, who suffers from the condition dyspraxia, which affects co-ordination, was bought a remote control car for his birthday to help aid his condition.
But when he took the £20 toy, bought from money given by relations, outside for the first time, a woman in a silver car ran over the toy, and did not bother to stop.
The Subara rally replica car, which was one foot long and 10in in height, was on the corner of Palmers Green and Smiths Avenue in St John's, Worcester when it was smashed last Thursday evening.
"Joe was playing outside with his six-year old sister Molly and four other friends. The car was three feet into the road," said Joe's mother, Gaynor Roberts.
Devastated
"The car drove straight over his car, making it a total write-off."
Joe, who attends Manor Park Special School, Turnpike Close, Worcester since the age of four, is devastated.
Mrs Roberts and her husband James are appealing for the person who ran over the remote control car over to replace it.
"The car would have helped improve his co-ordination, and would have educated him in a fun way" said Mrs Roberts of Palmers Green, St John's, Worcester.
"We are appealing for the driver of this vehicle, if they can find it in their hearts to replace the remote control car, and put a smile back on my son's face."
