CALLS to Crimestoppers have more than doubled since the Redditch Advertiser began running features in partnership with the police almost a year ago.
CCTV pictures of people believed to have been involved in crime have been regularly appearing since April last year and Redditch and Bromsgrove police have hailed the response from the public as a great success.
In 2000 there were only 54 calls to Crimestoppers for offences committed across Redditch and Bromsgrove.
The figure rose to 65 in 2001 and soared to 156 this year.
DCI Steve Walters said he was not able to divulge exactly what information had led to which arrests as it would undermine the whole confidential process of Crimestoppers.
