A HI-TECH anti-drugs operation which has being paying dividends was in the spotlight this week after Bromsgrove MP Julie Kirkbride dropped in to see it working.
A year after the launch of the Communities Against Drugs (CAD) initiative in Redditch and Bromsgrove, police are reporting great success.
The scheme, which employs a full-time analyst of the area's drug 'market' and crime patterns, was set up with a £100,000 grant from the Redditch and Bromsgrove Community Safety partnership.
Since April last year, 50 people have been arrested in the two towns for the supply of Class A drugs.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Walters Crime Manager for Redditch and Bromsgrove said: "The latest arrest day was on Friday which resulted in a quantity of heroin, cocaine and amphetamines being recovered."
