THE fascinating story of how the Allies broke the German Enigma code in the Second World War is the subject of a new show at Redditch's Palace Theatre on Saturday.
The All Electric Theatre Production presented by Dr Mark Baldwin describes the top secret work of the code breakers, who deciphered a vast number of enemy secret messages and used this intelligence to hasten Allied victory.
The Germans used the Enigma, a portable machine for their secret communications and the codes were changed every 24 hours.
Dr Baldwin has made a detailed study of the machine, the code breaking work done at Bletchley Park and U-boats and has built up a unique collection of slides, which illustrate these facts.
World War Two Codebreakers - The Story of Enigma takes place at 7.30pm and tickets cost £7 (£6 with Reddicard) from the Information Centre or 65203.
