A NEW chapter in the history of Barnt Green Spartak Football Club is about to be written as they prepare to move into a new home for next season.
Manager GJ Singh has set his sights on Midland Alliance football in three years after securing a major sponsorship deal.
Spartak, currently top of Midland Combination division two, have landed a five-figure sum with Barnt Green businessman Gary Corbett, and his company Truancy Call.
The deal will see them ground-share with Midland Combination Premier Division outfit Alvechurch from August.
It also brings to an end their current 12-month arrangement with Kenilworth Town and brings the club closer to its fan base.
Prior to that, the club spent a year at Shirley Town FC after selling their Bay Tree Farm ground, in Wythall, in 2000.
GJ Singh said: "This is a great lift for the whole club. Gary's aim is to bring us back home. We want to stay here (Alvechurch) as long as possible and try and get up the leagues.
"We are aiming for the Midland Alliance in three years."
Corbett is also joining the Spartak board as a club director, hoping to take the club from strength to strength on and off the pitch.
l Spartak need 14 points from their last seven games to secure the league title.
GJ Singh's side maintained their five-point lead at the top last Saturday with a 2-1 home victory over Central Ajax.
Reckey Carter scored either side of Lee Painter's 31st minute equaliser.
Spartak beat Chelmsley Town 4-0 last Wednesday. Simon Campbell, Delroy Brown, Clinton Bell and Mark Uddin scored.
