AFTER complaining about Solihull's refusal to play them earlier in the season, Woodrush tried to have the problematic fixture called off last week.
The ironic turnaround, after the hosts claimed the visitors had been responsible for twice postponing earlier attempts to play, came because Woodrush were struggling for a front row.
First choice hooker Lee Froggatt was ruled out through work commitments and stand-in Jeff Hughes was unavailable.
And with prop Tim Hardwick sidelined by a shoulder injury, fellow prop Andy Gibb was hauled into action from his sickbed. The result was a 34-12 defeat which means fifth is the best placing Woodrush can hope for this season with two matches to play.
Rush host Cleobury Mortimer on Saturday (ko 2.30pm) with doubts over Froggatt who, as a policeman has had his leave cancelled because of continuing peace protests, and scrum half Jamie Maddocks (ribs).
Scrum half Chris Pratt is out for the season after being concussed but Hughes returns.
