Dear Editor - I was particularly interested in the letters submitted by A Concerned Spa Mother, Arthur Hastings and Miss M Dudgeon as published in your March 12 edition.
Regarding the supposed actions of Councillor Pam Davey and her letter supporting such actions. Also Jim Brant's letter relating to the scant regard for people's views and concerns by council officials and councillors.
With regards to Cllr Davey, I forwarded a letter for her attention on May 5, 2002, expressing my deep concern at the failure of the Wychavon District Council planning department to enforce certain planning commitments and requesting her advice and/or assistance in this matter.
Having waited in excess of some four weeks without the courtesy of a reply, I again made contact on June 6, 2002. After waiting a further four weeks without a response, I forwarded a letter to the local paper in July 2002 outlining this situation and anticipating that I would shame Cllr Davey into responding.
Needless to say, some nine months later I am still awaiting the courtesy of a reply, which rather endorses the views expressed by Jim Brant concerning the contempt shown towards individual residents by our local councillors and council officials.
With the local elections fast approaching, I trust that people will make objective judgements in determining which individuals are best suited to represent our interests, rather than casting votes purely on the basis of party identity.
If such judgements are made, it is highly likely we shall be seeing some new faces in the foreseeable future.
Tom Facer, Droitwich.
