ALCESTER Ladies were hoping to return to league action for the first time in five weeks yesterday but ended up frustrated again.
Second from bottom Burton arrived at Kings Coughton but only brought nine players and conceded the two league points before mixing the sides up for a friendly which ended 30-30.
Alcester's last competitive outing was at Shrewsbury in mid February and Nick O'Connor's side are still waiting for a date to play Midlands West Three leaders Lichfield II's who withdrew from their fixture against Alcester citing a lack of players.
Alcester will try again a week on Sunday at home to Burton as they continue the scramble to finish third.
