LICKY End Methodists had a big disappointment when they heard that plans to build a new church and hall had been turned down by planners.
A TALK was given at a meeting of the Bromsgrove branch of the National Farmers' Union on 'Farming and the Countryside in the year 2000'. The speaker thought that more town dwellers would move back to the countryside.
THE February meeting of the Inner Wheel was held at the Golden Cross Hotel. A visit to the Chelsea Flower Show in May was suggested.
REV Peter Larkin was welcomed with bell-ringing as the priest-in-charge of Bromsgrove Parish Church. It was the first time in five years all ten church bells were rung at once.
MR Dennis Norton was praised for his work on the museum at Davenal House, Birmingham Road. Mr Norton was seeking approval for plans to extend the museum and build a flat.
THE Bromsgrove skate club was formed. At its first meeting the energetic committee accepted the invitation of the sports council to organise a competition for 200 local youngsters.
