CLASSICAL music fanatics will be in their element this spring with a brand new programme of events from the Midland Sinfonia.
The first performance will be held at their home base of St Laurence Church, in Alvechurch, this Saturday.
Performed by candlelight, town residents will be dazzled by two pieces -- Haydn's Symphony No.36 'The Lamentatione' and Symphony No.45 'The Farewell'.
The second piece was composed when disgruntled musicians wanted to return home to their families after an annual court visit to the Royal Summer Palace.
The evening will also include Mozart's Piano Concerto No.9.
Visitors are also urged to note there is a silent auction in progress where the highest bidder will receive a one-year health club membership to the Abbey Hotel Golf and Country Club for two adults.
Sealed bids can be made to Keith Woolford in writing to 24, Red Lion Street, Alvechurch, B48 7LF. Alternatively, call 0121 447 4261
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available on the door.
