A NEW nursery could open in the Spa as soon as September, if a proposal gets the green light.
Worcestershire County Council has submitted plans to add a nursery to St Joseph's RC First School, accommodating 13 full-time tots aged three and over.
If the plans go ahead, building work at the St Joseph's Close school could be completed as soon as September this year.
County councillor Peter Pinfield (Lab-Droit.West) has welcomed the application, which will be funded by the Worcestershire Local Education Authority (LEA).
"We all know how important it is to give young children a start in their lives by the provision of nursery facilities," he said.
"The Government are committed to provide a nursery place for all those parents who want it for their children.
"I fully support the increase in nursery places in the town and wish the school every success with the venture," he added.
