STAFF employed at the Longbridge car plant who helped make the world famous Austin Seven cars would have to wait a long time to buy one. The firm said the majority of the vehicles would be exported to the United States to earn the country valuable dollars. The firm had also taken out a patent on a means of improving gas turbine engines.

THE government overturned a decision by Bromsgrove District Council not to allow Bar Productions to expand its factory in Market Street. The council claimed the area was designated for shops and businesses.
