JAMIE Edwards has become the first disabled athlete to win the Under 21 Male award from Bromsgrove District Sports Council.
The 15-year-old, who suffers from cerebral palsy, is currently the national shot putt champion for his level and will be competing at his fourth national finals later this year.
His skills have seen him claim gold medals in the shot putt and javelin at each age group and Jamie has also won silver medals.
A pupil at Chadsgrove School, in Meadow Road, Jamie also gives his time to coach others in his sport.
He received his award at the sports council's annual ceremony earlier this month and was honoured with a special presentation at his school.
